Newport Tire is dedicated to offering our customers the finest products and total car service for both domestic and foreign cars, SUVs, and trucks. Our Mitchell 1 Data System gives our trained, ASE Certified Automotive Technicians computerized access to the most up-to-date information available on the market today. The Mitchell system is constantly updated and frequently provides information not available in manuals. This often makes us better informed and equipped to make repairs than dealers.

The information provided by the Mitchell 1 Data System allows us to dramatically reduce diagnostic time, which translates to substantial savings to our customers. Our policy is to give our customers the highest possible quality of service at reasonable rates, and always guarantee our work.


Newport Tire is a family owned and operated business since 1977. We have been in the same location since 1991. Owners, Carl and Paul Russell take great pride in offering three generations of customers the finest in tires, products and service in a state-of-the-art facility.

Rick Edwards
Rick Edwards, master automotive technician, has been with Newport Tire since 1992. Rick is an ASE certified technician with more than 27 years experience in the automotive service business. He "does everything" in the service department from state inspections to in depth repairs on both foreign and domestic vehicles. He has been a Rhode Island resident since 1985.
Rudy Oresco
Perfecto "Rudy" Orosco, is an ASE certified technician with more than 20 years experience repairing and servicing both foreign and domestic cars. He is also certified in safety and emissions testing. He has been with the company for 9 years.
Tom Miller
Tom Miller, is also an ASE certified technician. He specializes in wheel alignment, brakes, tires and exhaust systems. Tom has been with the company for five years and has nearly a decade of experience.
